Nigerian singer Portable is in the news again for calling other musicians Zlatan and Runtown “upcoming artists” and questioning how important they are in the music industry.
Nigerian singer Portable recently created a stir by calling other artists Zlatan and Runtown “upcoming artists. ”
In an interview on Echo Room, the Oriade singer said that Zlatan is not very well-known among rich people, which makes him a rising artist in his opinion. Portable shared that a friend who sells cars told him not to get into a fight with Zlatan because Zlatan was trying to use his name to gain attention.
“Zlatan is a rising artist,” Portable said. A rich friend of mine told me not to answer him because he’s not very famous. He said he just started to hear people say his name and he doesn’t know his own songs.
Portable also spoke negatively about Zlatan’s music, asking if the lyrics were good and if people liked it.
In a different chat with Quincy Jonze, Portable talked about Runtown’s career. He mentioned what TikTok star Peller said, calling Runtown an “upcoming artist. ” Portable didn’t agree with Peller and also asked why Runtown wasn’t making popular songs anymore.
“I disagree with what Peller said, but I also don’t support Runtown. ” “Why isn’t he singing anymore. Why isn’t he making hit songs anymore. ” Portable asked
He then gave Runtown unwanted advice, asking him to work together on a song. “Ask him to come and work with me, give me a part, and he will be popular again. ” “Work hard, man, so they don’t forget you,” he said.
Portable’s comments have gotten different responses online. Some people are doubting his credibility to criticize well-known artists, while others believe he’s just trying to get attention.
